Napier Retirement Village offers several choices for the retired person, with a wide range of accommodation types at differing prices. It provides spacious homes for people wanting total independence, while offering smaller homes and apartments for those requiring more compact living. There are 25 cottages, seven terraced houses, 25 assisted living units and 19 health care beds.
INDEPENDENT LIVING
COUNTRY COTTAGES
Designed in the Cape vernacular architecture in response to the ‘Ou Skool’ building, there is a choice of one or two bedroom units within a carefully landscaped garden setting. With their thick walls, tapered window reveals, exposed rafters, terraces and courtyard gardens with ‘werf mure’, the cottages offer charm and relaxed country living.
TERRACED HOUSING
Once the ‘Ou Skool’s’ woodwork building, this wing has been converted to provide three 2-bedroom units and three 1-bedroom units. Each terraced house has its own terrace with north facing country views and they provide compact, convenient living at affordable prices.
ASSISTED LIVING
Once the ‘Ou Skool’s’ classroom block, a new wing has been added which encloses a courtyard garden around which 25 assisted living units are positioned. With close proximity to the health care facility and nursing assistance, and with their own library, living and dining room, these units provide a safe haven with inward living for those wanting a more manageable environment.
