The Clubhouse

Built in 1907 the elegant Clubhouse building was once
the main building of the ‘Ou Skool’ and is still central to
social life at Napier Retirement Village.

Delicious meals are served in the perfectly appointed Victorian dining room which opens out onto a large covered terrace – ideal for viewing the valley with a cup of tea or glass of wine.

There is both a lounge and a library in the Clubhouse.  The lounge has a TV and wifi facilities, while the library is filled with good reads, a bridge table and sunny corners to read in.

If you wish to keep fit, we have a sparkling swimming pool and a variety of walks through the indigenous gardens.

Many interesting and inspiring characters have chosen to settle
in Napier and as a result there are a variety of social, cultural
and crafting groups who meet regularly in the village, and often
in our own Clubhouse.

The Healthcare centre and management office are also housed in the clubhouse, and the assisted-living courtyard is attached by a covered walkway.

Security

Napier has a remarkably low crime rate, which has made it such an attractive town for people wanting to escape the stress of living in
larger urban areas.

For further peace of mind, the retirement village is a closed and secure community with the following 24-hour security:

  • perimeter security fence
  • gated entrance with intercom for visitors and remote control for residence
  • remote panic buttons in every home
  • a telephone intercom system between all homes and the security office, healthcare centre and clubhouse.
  • all cottages are fitted with wireless alarms, connected directly to an armed response company
